WORLD AUTISM AWARENESS DAY

Date: April 2, 2025
Venue: Auditorium (for guests and parents) and Activities Hall (for children), SRCC Centre for Child Development

On 2nd April 2025, SRCC Centre for Child Development commemorated ‘World Autism Awareness Day’ with a vibrant and engaging program held simultaneously in the Auditorium and the Activities Hall. The cultural segment opened with captivating dance performances by Early Education Intervention Program (EEIP) children, showcasing their talent and enthusiasm. The children enjoyed a short film followed by a lively puppet show organised in-house by our staff members, an initiative led by Ms. Sharon Sigo, both designed to entertain and inspire. The esteemed guest’s Dr Sandip Dhurat and Ms. Beena Modak (President – FFA at Kshitij/Forum for Autism) launched the ‘SRCC’s Comprehensive Autism Program’, marking a significant step towards holistic, multi-therapy support for children with autism. The program also featured the launch of Mr. Sandeep Dhurat’s book ‘With Wings – We Will Fly’, followed by insightful talks on autism awareness and advocacy. The celebration was enriched with thoughtful gestures, snack boxes and goodie bags for children, refreshments for guests and parents. Informational pamphlets about the With Wings – We Will Fly book were distributed, reinforcing the CENTRE’s commitment to raising autism awareness. The event not only celebrated the abilities and potential of children with autism but also strengthened the bond between parents, professionals, and the community in building a truly inclusive environment.
