ADVANCING CARE FOR CHILDREN WITH ASD THROUGH NDBI TRAINING

Date: February 21 & 22, 2025
Venue: Conference Room, SRCC Centre for Child Development

Rooted in both Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and developmental therapy principles, Naturalistic Developmental Behavioural Interventions (NDBIs) are among the most widely used, evidence-based approaches for supporting children with ASD today. Implemented in natural settings, NDBIs involve shared control between the child and therapist, use everyday situations as learning opportunities, and apply a range of behavioural strategies to teach developmentally appropriate and foundational skills.
Recognizing the importance of this approach, our centre hosted an NDBI training for both in-centre and external therapists, in collaboration with Mrs. K. Y. Sudha, founder of ASD Buddy. A total of nine in-centre and ten external professionals attended the training, gaining practical insights into these effective strategies. Our therapists now apply NDBI techniques in daily sessions, helping children develop and practice new skills in real-life contexts.
