SRCC – Training and Skills at CASE (TASC) successfully organised its 4th annual “Skill Expo” on 17th April 2026 for neuro-typical children, offering them a hands-on introduction to vocational skills in an engaging and interactive setting. Twenty-eight students of Grade 9 from Lady Engineer High School, Tardeo, along with four teachers, participated enthusiastically in the event. TASC is a two-year vocational training program for neuro-divergent adolescents (14–17 years), focused on developing pre-vocational skills in areas such as pottery, baking, gardening, yoga, cooking, and retail management to support independence and future employment opportunities. During the Skill Expo, students experienced three key vocational areas taught at TASC. In pottery, they worked with clay using coils, balls, and moulds, and also had the opportunity to use the potter’s wheel, which was a unique experience for many participants. In gardening, students recycled plastic bottles into decorative hanging planters, learned about various plants, and planted saplings to take home. They were also impressed by the vertical garden created by TASC students. The retail management activity, “Dressing the Mannequin Contest,” allowed students to explore creativity and teamwork by styling mannequins using a variety of clothes and accessories arranged like a retail store. The baking activity was another highlight, where students prepared mug cakes using pottery mugs made at CASE and decorated their creations after baking. The Skill Expo created an energetic and inclusive learning environment where students also experienced core competencies such as communication, soft skills, and teamwork. TASC Children actively participated in the event, gaining valuable experience in organisation, guidance, and interaction. The event concluded with students taking home their decorated planters and mug cakes, making the Skill Expo a memorable experience of learning through doing.
