International Training Program on Neuropsychology in Epilepsy (N.E.T.) 2026

Date: March 19-21, 2026
Venue: Auditorium, SRCC Centre for Child Development.

The “Neuropsychology in Epilepsy Training (N.E.T.) 2026” was organized in collaboration with the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE), King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital, and SRCC Children’s Hospital & SRCC Centre for Child Development. To establish a common foundation among participants, two online preparatory sessions were conducted prior to the in-person program covering the fundamentals of epilepsy and neuropsychology.

The three-day program brought together internationally renowned experts in epilepsy and clinical neuropsychology, including Prof. Sallie Baxendale (UK), Prof. Mary Lou Smith (Canada), Prof. Sarah Wilson (Australia), Prof. Marla Hamberger (USA), and Dr. Shivani Sharma (UK). The faculty shared their expertise on the critical role of neuropsychology in epilepsy care, covering areas such as epilepsy diagnosis, presurgical evaluation, cognitive and behavioural assessment, rehabilitation, and multidisciplinary management. The programme provided participants with valuable clinical insights into real-world clinical decision-making through lectures, case discussions, and focused group sessions. It represented an important milestone in strengthening neuropsychology training in South Asia and highlighted the increasingly vital role of neuropsychologists as integral members of comprehensive epilepsy surgery programs.
