Date: January 25, 2023
Venue: Courtyard & Activities Hall, SRCC Centre for Child Development
The 74th Republic Day was celebrated on 25th January, 2023 by hoisting our National Flag at the hands of Mrs. Jyoti Doshi, Hon. Gen. Secretary, SRCC followed by singing of National Anthem at the Centre.
It was followed by junior children of CASE Special Education Therapy Department singing the patriotic song “Ek Hai Hamari Aaj Raahein”. The CASE Dept. helps build self-confidence in the children, which they proved has been done perfectly when though they had practised singing with the music, at the eleventh hour the audio with music didn’t work. They still stood straight and sang in the most melodious voices as though everything had gone just as planned. Reading of the Preamble and a street play “Desh Badalne, Kuch Gharelu Nuske” followed the singing. The street play evoked few simple ways to make a big difference starting from our homes. The therapists then joined together to sing a medley of patriotic songs starting with “Aye Mere Vatan ke logon” as a tribute to Late Lata Mangeshkar and ending it with “Ye duniya, ek Dulhan”. The children took a pledge of how they will become responsible citizens of the country. Each one wrote on a slip how they will contribute, then glued the slips together to form the Indian Tri-colour.
