Around 35 enthusiastic learners from the SRCC CENTRE’S Citi Academy for Skill and Education (CASE) recently embarked on a captivating journey into India’s ancient history through a Trunk Museum session conducted by the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS) Museum. Designed to complement the SSC History curriculum, the session offered a unique hands-on experience that brought the Stone Age and Harappan Civilization vividly to life. Guided by museum experts, the students explored authentic replicas of prehistoric tools—hand axes, scrapers, and blades—and learned how humans used them for survival and innovation. The session drew powerful parallels between ancient tools and today’s modern devices, highlighting the evolution of human ingenuity. Adding another layer to their learning, children discovered key Stone Age sites like Bhimbetka, Hunsgi, and Belan Valley through interactive storytelling. The visit concluded with a creative colouring activity, allowing students to reimagine early human life through art. The Harappan Civilization segment offered a tactile exploration of replicas of seals, pottery, beads, and tools. Through these objects, children gained insights into ancient urban planning, trade, and daily life—fostering a deeper understanding of one of the world’s earliest civilizations. By holding history in their hands, CASE children experienced the past beyond textbooks. This experiential learning not only enhanced their knowledge but ignited a lasting curiosity and appreciation for India’s cultural heritage.
