WORLD RECYCLING DAY – 2025

Date: March 18, 2025
Venue: Auditorium, SRCC Centre.

March 18th marks World Recycling Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of recycling and its positive impact on the planet. This year, SRCC Centre’s CASE Special Education Therapy Dept. took a significant step towards contributing to a cleaner environment by organizing a workshop for its children and staff with the help of Threco, a company which is primarily into the space of recycling e-waste and plastic waste. The children were explained the concept of recycling of plastic waste while emphasising its importance. A collection drive of plastic waste and e-waste was organised at the centre. Children and staff were asked to bring plastic waste from two weeks prior to the event and the same was deposited in huge bins at the centre. Therapists also played an active role by guiding children on how to properly identify recyclable plastics and explaining the importance of proper waste segregation. By involving everyone in the collection process, SRCC – CASE instilled a sense of responsibility and awareness in each child. Threco, collected both this as well as batteries and other e-waste as part of the drive to recycle waste. The event, which involved children, therapists, and staff, aimed to highlight the crucial role recycling plays in reducing waste and conserving resources. It was a great opportunity for children to learn first-hand about the impact of plastic waste and e-waste on the environment and how easy it is to make a difference. This initiative is a reminder that small actions, when taken collectively, can lead to a significant change. SRCC-CASE is committed to continuing this effort and hopes to inspire others in the community to take similar steps in protecting our environment for future generations.
