Date: March 21, 2024
Venue: SRCC Centre for Child Development.
SRCC-Training and Skills at CASE (TASC) organised its first “SKILL EXPO” for neuro-typical and neuro-divergent children of other schools and centres in the age group of 14 to 17 years. About fifty children participated in the ‘Skill Expo’ & tried their hands at pottery making with clay rolled into coils and balls & also on the potter’s wheel. Each child baked a cake in less than 10mins in the mugs made by children learning pottery at SRCC – CASE (TASC). Children also prepared their own sandwiches using tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers and chutney. Children enjoyed doing yoga on ropes. Children also enjoyed gardening. Children planted carom (ajwain), periwinkle & money plants. In each section, every child earned points for the effort put in to learn the skill and additional points if they showed more grit & determination. The points they earned was to be spent on entertaining themselves in the tuck shop and the game zone. Along with skill development, there was an entertainment area reserved for the children. In the game zone, children played games which were designed by a child of CASE (TASC) dept. under the guidance of a therapist. In this fun way, children were taught about earnings, expenditure and savings. It is noteworthy to mention that the children of CASE (TASC) dept. were able to assist the participants in the Skill Expo & thereby gaining a good experience in organisation, execution and people skills.
